8 ounces of spaghetti or linguine
2 cups of water
1 can of diced tomatoes
1 small onion, finely chopped
2 cloves of garlic, minced
1 teaspoon of dried basil
1 teaspoon of dried oregano
Salt and pepper to taste
In a large pot, combine the spaghetti, water, diced tomatoes (including the liquid), chopped onion, minced garlic, dried basil, dried oregano, salt, and pepper.
Place the pot over medium heat and bring it to a boil. Stir occasionally to prevent sticking.
Reduce the heat to low and let the pasta simmer uncovered for about 10-12 minutes, or until the pasta is cooked and the sauce has thickened, stirring occasionally.
